What should you watch after The Diplomat?
The Diplomat may look like a political thriller, but the deeper pull is watching someone brilliant stay competent under pressure, out-manoeuvre people with dry humour, while a messy relationship runs underneath.
What to watch next
Three routes. Not another list of political thrillers.
Slow Horses
Hot now
The same warm emotional tone, the same sarcastic humour, and the same competence under pressure.
That is the strongest obvious bridge if those are the parts that got you, rather than the politics.
Murderbot
Current adjacent
The setting is science fiction. What travels is the warmth, the dry humour, and the competence.
A very different world, and much of the same viewing pleasure.
Orphan Black
Hidden gem
An older route, with warmth, competence and cat-and-mouse tension.
A strong fit that does not simply repeat the political thriller.
This still is not your match.
